Start a new holiday tradition this year by visiting the Magic RainTree in New Castle, Indiana!
This year's tree will be a full size tree in Your Park at the corner of Hwy 3 and Hwy 38.
Opening date may be adjusted.
Why is there a phone at the Magic RainTree? The past 2 years have been a year of grief and struggles for many people with the battle against the virus. The phone is placed at the tree as a way to deal with grief and loss. "Call" your loved one that is no longer here under the peacefullness of the Magic RainTree.
The phone was inspired by a phone booth set up in Otsuchi, Japan. It was created to deal with grief of loss by the creator then later in the year for the loss of 2,000 residents in his town that died in a tsunami. Thousands visit the phone each year.
The Magic RainTree is modeled after the Magic Tree in Missouri.
The Magic Tree began in 1995 from originator Will Treelighter (his real name is Randy Fletcher) from Missouri. He created the tree for enjoyment. A sense of excitement and peacefullness. But the tree reflects what you bring to it. Some see a tree covered in lights. Others experience beauty, healing, inspiration, love and magic. We see what we want to see. The world is difficult. We watch the news and see bombings, murder, missing people. The tree brings light and love. If beauty is in the eye of the behold, what are you?
