About Us
Attraction, Heritage, Event Space: Museum is housed in the 1870 Italianate mansion of Civil War General William Grose. We are the oldest, continuously operating historical society in the state (formed in 1887). Museum has been in Grose's home since 1902. We also manage the Clarence H. Smith Genealogy Library.
